Background

Dr. Afshan Samad is a board-certified OB/GYN with more than 15 years of experience providing compassionate, comprehensive care for women at every stage of life. A native of India, Dr. Samad graduated from the Government Medical College, Jammu in Jammu and Kashmir, India. She then moved to the United States, where she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Sisters of Charity Hospital through the State University of New York at Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine.

Dr. Samad specializes in both routine and complex women’s health needs, offering preventive gynecologic care, prenatal and obstetric services, and treatment for a wide range of reproductive health conditions. Her areas of expertise include high-risk pregnancies, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, abnormal uterine bleeding, placental abruption, postpartum depression, pelvic pain, mastalgia, dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, and ovarian cysts. Dr. Samad utilizes advanced diagnostic and treatment options, including breast cancer screening, mammography and breast ultrasound, fetal cardiac monitoring, vaginal delivery and VBAC, cesarean section, integrated prenatal screening, quad screening, and HCG testing. Dr. Samad is dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care that helps women from diverse backgrounds feel informed, supported, and empowered in their healthcare decisions.
