Background
Dr. Liam Knott is a bariatric and general surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive procedures and robotic surgery. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University at Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, NY. After graduation, he completed his internship and residency in the Department of Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Dr. Knott finished his medical training with a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY.
Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Knott is highly skilled in managing a broad spectrum of conditions, including abdominal wall hernias, inguinal hernias, hiatal and paraesophageal hernias, gallbladder disease, obesity, heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux, lipomas, cysts, and has received specialized training in emergency general surgery. He is proficient in robotic and minimally invasive techniques, such as robotic bariatric surgery, robotic and minimally invasive hernia repairs, minimally invasive cholecystectomies, and emergency abdominal surgery.

I was born and raised in Western New York and am committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to the residents of this community. After completing my surgical training, I made the decision to return home and start my career here in Buffalo in 2018. I have been practicing here ever since and truly love my work.
