Get to know Paul M. Anain, MD, FACS

About

Dr. Paul Anain is a native Western New Yorker, graduating from Canisius High School and Canisius College before attending the University at Buffalo medical school. After medical school, he went on to do his general surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and vascular surgery at the University of Buffalo. From there, he continued on to UCLA for endovascular surgery. He is board certified in both general and vascular surgery.

Dr. Anain returned to Buffalo in 1999 and began his practice with his father, Joseph M. Anain, Sr., also a vascular surgeon. There he met his wife Leslie. They have two boys.

Dr. Anain has participated in multiple national studies on endovascular aortic aneurysm repair and has numerous publications on vascular and endovascular care. He has been chairman of vascular surgery at Sisters of Charity Hospital since 2002 and is currently the Medical Director of the Vascular Services line, Chief of Vascular Surgery for the Catholic Health System, and program director of the Vascular Fellowship.

He has a special interest in the treatment of aortic aneurysms with open and endovascular approaches and complex abdominal surgery, along with carotid surgery and endovascular procedures.
