Background
Dr. Ryan O’Connor graduated magna cum laude with his Doctorate of Medicine from the University at Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, NY. He completed his internal medicine residency in Rochester, NY at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry’s flagship hospital, Strong Memorial Hospital. After his residency, he was awarded a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Strong Memorial Hospital, where he served as Cardiology Scheduling Fellow and Chief Cardiology Fellow.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. O’Connor offers preventative cardiology care and specializes in various cardiac conditions, such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease. Treatment options provided by Dr. O’Connor include echocardiogram, electrocardiogram, stress test, nuclear stress test, transesophageal echocardiogram, and cardioversions.

As a cardiologist, my care philosophy is based on a patient-centric approach, which focuses on comprehensive and preventative cardiovascular care. My focus is on evidence-based medicine with shared decision making to ensure that my patients receive the most effective treatments available. I also strive to teach my patients and help them to understand their underlying conditions while empowering them to become an active part of their care management. I strongly believe in collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, focusing on long-term wellness and disease prevention.
